I have over 20 years’ experience within menswear and this is where my strength lies from working with mills on fabrics through to designing the collections and working with the factories. My interests are innovation and sustainability within fashion - whether this is from fabrics or how we design. We need to start thinking that the industry cannot keep going with fast throwaway fashion so we need new innovations to excite the customers.
My interests - I like to create innovative styles by manipulating fabric into detailed designs, using various textiles and reusing old material. I am also interested in developing my knowledge on how to create sustainable fabric and learn new skills. I would say my expertise lies in my ability to construct garments with extreme precision.

I am really passionate about apparel design and making, with various sorts of pattern cutting and modular and transition constructions in Ath-Tailoring aspect, including technical garments from active outerwear to tailoring ergonomic design as well. Secondly, for fashion design holistic approach, I more interested how my practice can bring benefits to the existing fashion industry, including my research in seamless weaving (working on a mechanism that weaving from yarn straight to a garment) and cultural adoption of seamless technology (having digital interface harvesting better enhancement for apparel character and performance).
I’m currently working on my new venture in garment manufacturing. This is a brand-new area for me however, I have been working for myself for over 8 years and can be contacted for general advice about running a start-up and exiting through a company sale.
I come from the sustainable fashion industry and have a successful Danish fashion brand with production in 5 different countries. I have also run a store on the High Street of Copenhagen with sustainable fashion items. My best skills are within growth and sales development. I tend to create and see new business possibilities.
MarinaTex Ltd is a micro SME developing a new material made from seafood waste and red algae, designed as a planet conscious alternative to single-use plastic film for the packaging industry. The material is a translucent, flexible film material that can biodegrade in a home-compostable environment in 4-6 weeks. One of the main product focus areas is poly bags for the fashion industry as they need to protect the garment, whilst remaining transparent for the warehouse, but they do not need to be plastic. The company’s mission is to develop circular solutions to linear problems by redesigning materials for packaging.
