Although from a leather and footwear background, my interests have shifted towards biomaterials (especially bacterial cellulose) and circular/regenerative fashion economies. A freelance print designer and senior lecturer at Leeds Arts University, my interests explore ideas relating to the connections between nature and wellbeing and the role this plays within the field of textiles, commercial print design and pedagogical practice. My areas of design specialism include colour (in particular it’s application to product/cloth and its ability to hold a narrative), the application of traditional printmaking processes across a variety of substrates, repeat pattern design and sustainable / socially engaged creative practice.
