 Design & Manufacturing (Apparel)

We design and create clothing and accessories to support those with all types of disabilities. We particularly focus on developing innovative, comfortable, and stylish products that let an individual feel confident and independent.

All our products are designed and tested by our founder Kat who is herself a wheelchair user, which gives a unique outlook and the ability to understand the user experience.

Additionally, we also focus on products to support those with autism and other anxiety linked conditions, such as weighted products, this is due to the founder’s experience with supporting individuals with such conditions in her family and past experience in the medical profession.

  • What are your aspirations and plans for the future?: To upscale the business in a sustainable way but not lose the personalised, high quality handmade spirit behind all our products. We want to move into developing more styles of clothing to meet the needs of disabled community.
  • What types of projects are you interested in working on through Future Fashion Factory?: Kat is a professional sewer by experience, but has limited training in pattern design and cutting, it’s just what she has picked up over the years, we would like to work with Future Fashion Factory on how we can create a flexible design platform that would allow us to customise clothing for different disabilities. We face the issue that many of our customer are not able to visit us to take measurements and our founder due to her disabilities is not able to visit their homes due to lack of access for her wheelchair. We would like to create a system that would allow for virtual measurement to be captured that are accurate and allow for a product to be designed to fit for example a wheelchair user, this could be a shop bought item they want customised or a handmade creation produced by our business.
