We recycle zero-use cellulose acetate (CA) into new long lasting products. The primary source is from unused cigarette filters, that come through our recycling partnerships with Customs organisations who would previously have incinerated the full cigarettes. We are now also recycling CA material that is manufacturing waste, again unused, from the eyewear industry. In this case, they have a huge portion of waste from the creation of high end glasses frames.

- What are your aspirations and plans for the future?: On the recycling ‘service’ front, we plan to recycle a billion filters before 2027. On the product front, our main aspiration for the next 3 years is to produce 100 million clothing buttons made from our material, and eventually billions, of virgin material buttons.
- What types of projects are you interested in working on through Future Fashion Factory?: Projects that support us in our effort to growing within the button industry by getting financial support to purchase second hand finishing machinery, and by gaining insights and feedback from the network that will help us ensure our products, plans and strategy are continuously improved.
