LAKOUES Ltd

 Design & Manufacturing (Apparel)

LAKOUES is a luxury unisex brand, bespoke and ready to wear, sold online, designed and manufactured in the UK. Sustainable and ethical practices are at our core, and complete transparency is paramount across all aspects of the business.

Sometimes great measures are made to cover up unethical manufacturing processes that could hurt a brand’s image, at the expense of people’s livelihood, quality of life and our wonderful little planet. LAKOUES ascribes to helping eradicate these practices and leading by example in a world that unfortunately favours fast fashion and mass production. Steps must be taken to raise awareness of these bad practices and also instil pride and confidence into the wearer and owner of high-quality products, that last a lifetime. Not only does this increase the wellbeing of the person, but also works towards a fairer future for everyone involved in the process, and helps cater to environmental issues the world over.

I have over 10 years’ experience in the fashion industry, extensive knowledge of design/CAD, I use the highest quality manufacturing, production, finishes, fabrics and I am proud to continually source fair trade products and organic materials. LAKOUES makes luxury fashion sustainable and accessible to all, with an underlying statement of strong ethics and forward-thinking design.

  • What are your aspirations and plans for the future?: Growth, develop and produce luxury handmade accessories, other garments besides outerwear. Launch a signature natural perfume range, Use offcuts and alternatives to leather, continue to use recycled products and packaging. Continue to spread awareness. Our target is to become leaders in sustainable, luxury brands based in the UK, and slowly cultivate a presence worldwide. Rather than fiercely competing for a top spot, we believe in collaboration and wish to work together to create a strong community and movement towards common goals. Many brands prioritise profit over good practice. While we deem profit an important factor for the growth and development of the business, it is not the sole aim.
  • What types of projects are you interested in working on through Future Fashion Factory?: Developing new fabrics, sustainable materials and incorporating these within new collections that are relevant to the current trends. I am very interested in exploring and learning more about Aesthetic communication, and any cutting-edge technologies that aid design and manufacture. I would like to collaborate with other members of FFF on new collections, in research and development and clever marketing strategies. Also down the line, to help and educate others coming up in this ever changing industry.
