We are the largest textile employer in the UK. We are a fully vertical operation from raw fibre to finished product specialising in cashmere and fine wool. We operate both Scotland’s largest weaving mill and largest knitwear mill.
We are extremely active in pushing the science of what we do based on KTP projects with universities and green and black belt lean projects. In every single area of our operation we are looking to improve measurability, consistency and quality.

- What are your aspirations and plans for the future?: We are a company founded on innovation and are looking to push ahead on bringing the latest technology into the world of “traditional textiles”. We plan to stay ahead of the latest advances in equipment, bring new technology into textiles from other sectors and innovate in technique.
- What types of projects are you interested in working on through Future Fashion Factory?: Across all areas within weaving and knitting. Specific examples include: fibre measurement; fabric fault mapping; alternative chemicals; alternative fibre development; structural innovation on wovens and knits; virtual prototyping; sampling speed; planning innovations; etc.
