Hanubu’s mission is to create the most desirable, durable and consciously produced car accessories in the world. Despite the connection many of us share with our cars, the seat cover and broader accessories market is saturated with ‘me too’ products made from cheap materials and we’re here to change that. We’re entering an overlooked product vertical valued at $5.1billion in 2019 and a growing mobility market.
Our products are designed using automotive grade materials, extending lifespan and we use 100% recycled yarns, responsibly sourced bio and faux leather, carbon-free waterproofing, and plastic free packaging. We are the first company to incorporate an eco-friendly antimicrobial into automotive seat covers that have been certified by Cambridge University BioSciences and proven to kill Coronavirus.

- What are your aspirations and plans for the future?: Our company initiatives include a project to identity suitable waste materials that we can reuse and refurbish to launch limited edition runs of our seat covers. We are also shortlisting various ESG partners to offset our carbon footprint and become a net-zero business that has a positive impact, with B-Corp on our roadmap. We intend to align with the EV and future of automotive, allowing businesses to customise and advertise in-vehicle by using digital print, 3D/CGI configurator tools. We would like to bring the first refurbishment scheme into this space, taking responsibility for end-of-life products and contributing to the circular economy.
- What types of projects are you interested in working on through Future Fashion Factory?: We would like to identify innovative, sustainable materials that can be used on our products and partners that we can work with to implement a refurbishment scheme focused on end-of-life products. It’s our aspiration to be the partner of choice for fleet operators that want to protect the residual value of vehicles and develop a range of products that incorporate a magnet technology to allow ease of use for smart devices for the consumer market. Our purpose is to trademark these designs and create IP that gives our company more defensibility. We have identified a partner to create a 3D configurator tool that allows customers to customise their products, offering opportunities for commercial partnerships by advertising in-vehicle using the latest digital print techniques. Use cases could be, Leeds Taxi’s with ‘Welcome to Yorkshire’, London Black Cabs, with Madam Tussauds or Hertz rentals partnering with BP.
