Handmade was built to pioneer next generation connected devices and intelligent software. During its past 8+ years, Handmade established a fast paced lab environment and a ‘prototype everything’ mindset that has proven to be instrumental in developing our ability to push boundaries.
Having grown and trained a specialist team that naturally blends digital and physical, Handmade has the capability to bring things to life in advanced experience prototypes.

- What are your aspirations and plans for the future?: It is our intention to grow our company geographically as well as from a project perspective. We have our Experience Design & Engineering Lab in our Amsterdam HQ, a new Lab in Singapore (from the 1st January 2020), and are in the process of establishing a ‘Fashion Design Lab’ in Yorkshire (currently we are operating in the UK through ‘Infinite Playground X Limited’). During the past 8 years, Handmade has proven its ability to support the market through its ‘fast paced lab environment’, going from ‘0 to 1 in 12 weeks’; from the inception to realisation, bringing ideas into actual working product experiences, in the most effective manner. We have now initiated larger and more complex projects, looking to apply our capabilities and expertise across challenges and industries ranging from automotive, transportation, smart living, all the way into space exploration. We thrive on delivering the unimaginable with custom build experiences and a meaningful purpose.
- What types of projects are you interested in working on through Future Fashion Factory?: We are interested supporting the FFF programme with our speculative / experience design and prototyping ability in an accelerated fashion. We would be interested in supporting the programme’s partners and/or the wider Industry with its challenges to create textile and garments from scratch. Designing and developing both the front- and backend of such systems. In general, projects that have the ability to reinvent and reinvigorate the fashion and textile industry through applying design-thinking methods, advanced manufacturing techniques and emerging digital technologies.
