Fibe focuses on creating sustainable textiles by developing yarns from potato harvest waste. Potatoes are the third most grown food crop in the world and the plant leftover from cultivation is a massive, overlooked waste stream. We predict that our fibres would use 99% less water, 92% less energy and 90% less land than cotton all while promoting food farming.
We believe we can add to the innovation taking place at FFF and represent many of the upcoming student start-ups in this space. In addition, we have a diverse and international background that can provide global attention to the institute.

- What are your aspirations and plans for the future?: Fibe aims to reduce fashion emissions by replacing traditional virgin textiles such as cotton and polyester. In the coming year, we hope to raise funds in order to create our proof-of-concept prototypes (pre-seed) and find new advisors and industry partners who would like to get involved.
- What types of projects are you interested in working on through Future Fashion Factory?: Currently, we are interested in collaborating with UK-based fashion brands that want to release a limited product line with our material. We would also be interested in meeting supply chain experts for validation. We believe that FFF can also connect us with many of the facilities and innovators at Leeds university Finally, we are keen to take part in many of the events, shows and competitions taking place at Future Fashion Factory.
