Fashion Research Studio
The Fashion Research Studio (FRS) develops environmental and ethical design processes, in collaboration with designers, academics, and the non-profit sector.
The current focus is incorporating alternative non-animal materials within a circular product life cycle.
The main services are a studio and consultancy.
Studio:
FRS works alongside design teams hands-on to innovate design and development practices, such as reducing waste in pattern cutting, designing with reuse or product disassembly in mind, or exploring how regenerative and recycled materials affects design form and manufacture.
Consultancy:
Consultancy revolves around research including applying qualitative and/or quantitative methods such as case studies, interviews, workshops and surveys with relevant organisations and the public. This can be in addition to iterative design development and research through making.
