Her senior management roles in industry developed strong business and commercial skills by working for fashion companies such as Oasis and Jigsaw, as well as working as an international fashion buying manager with a venture capitalist team. She developed my strong creative entrepreneurship skills through creating her own eco childrenswear fashion brand supplying stores across Europe.

She has a strong academic and pedagogical background, with over 15 years of teaching experience at Kingston University, London College of Fashion, Westminster University and Istituto Marangoni as their Academic Director where she developed and validated their UG and PG. She has supervised students through their masters’ courses at many universities and teaches in the disciplines of fashion design, contextual studies, fashion and luxury  brand management, product creativity and innovation, buying and merchandising, trend forecasting, fashion business, sustainability and ethics and research practice. Her research field is sustainability and ethical transparency in all fashion processes and she has a strong commitment to ‘slow fashion’. She is a strong advocate for the sustainable agenda in fashion and fashion business and has implemented sustainability into all aspects of her teaching and research.

Following on from the research initiated in her master’s where she designed a sustainable womenswear capsule collection supporting her thesis on sustainable solutions for the fashion industry she  would now like to continue her research into  sustainable fashion design solutions for industry and to drive the sustainable fashion agenda through educating the designers and decision makers of the future.

  • What are your aspirations and plans for the future?: I would like to take my research and industry experience and advise and interface with both industry professionals and students on sustainable change management. I am particularly motivated by a project moving industry into using textiles that are sustainable and can feed into a circular attitude to fashion. I am looking also to complete a PhD addressing this in -depth. I am looking for an industry partner to take this research forward but equally to work with the FFF to disseminate the findings.
  • What types of projects are you interested in working on through Future Fashion Factory?: I would like to work with industry in an advisory capacity and develop sustainable strategies together moving into a more circular attitude to product development. I currently supervise doctorate, master and MBA students in fashion and fashion business and would be very happy to support students that may reach out to you.
