Domenica Landin
In my PhD research, I’m currently exploring data-driven colour design, and within this context, I’m particularly interested in open-source in relation to colours and dyestuff. This makes me curious about how digital platforms can enable open-source to work in the design process of textiles. Finally, I’m interested in understanding how can data be useful and accessible to different stakeholders across the textile supply chain.
As a design researcher, with background in fashion, textiles, and education, I bring firsthand experience in the ideation, creation, and development of textiles for the fashion industry. I’ve had various experiences in interdisciplinary projects, and I’m skilled at improving communication between disciplines.

- What are your aspirations and plans for the future?: I'm aiming to work as a designer research in the textiles industry and collaborate in R&D global projects that tackle complex issues in the textiles and fashion industry. More immediately, with my PhD research, I aim to do work that can support the transition to a circular fashion and textiles industry, more specifically, provide a platform to support colour transparency.
- What types of projects are you interested in working on through Future Fashion Factory?: I'm interested to work in projects that explore the integration of AI in the supply chain, data-driven design, projects that tackle systematic changes, and projects that connect to the circular economy.
