Daniel Crabtree
An emerging ready-to-wear menswear label reimagining British tailoring through handcraft. The collection is built around men’s wardrobe staples. Each shape is generated through freehand pattern-cutting, producing unexpected fits and proportions.
Vintage garments are taken apart, reclaimed, and repurposed into new fabrics (knitwear, shirting), used alongside hand-embellished deadstock suiting, and locally sourced wools and waxed cottons.
In opposition to trend-led fast-fashion, a trans-seasonal and sustainable approach is embodied, limiting waste through the creation of design classics that are remastered each season.

- What are your aspirations and plans for the future?: Having debuted the label in Paris at Men’s Fashion Week in January 2020 I plan to restart growth in 2021, continuing to show seasonally and build relationships with stockists and press. In doing this I plan to hone the product too, improving technicality and offer, developing sustainable solutions and innovating in design and fabrication. Alongside the label I hope to continue consulting on design for other brands, engaging in creative collaboration and continue teaching alongside.
- What types of projects are you interested in working on through Future Fashion Factory?: I am keen to work on projects in line with my interests in materiality, craftsmanship, and slow fashion/sustainability. I work with British-made fabrics where possible including waxed cottons, suiting wools, and coating wools, using deadstock, and reclaimed vintage garments alongside. In reusing knitwear, I have developed hand-felted finishes which I am particularly interested in developing further. I reinterpret traditional tailoring techniques and explore hand-embroidery in my work, and am interested in developing creative solutions to overproduction and garment waste.
