 Fashion & Textile Professionals

With background in fashion design, research and curating, I am interested in new ways of communicating fashion in online and offline contexts. I am interested in pursuing projects which connect emerging digital specialists with UK fashion practitioners in pushing new boundaries of communication and promotion.

Previously, during a fellowship at the Royal College of Art, I have pursued research in how new technologies and Internet have paved new ways of digital representations in fashion in China. During the fellowship, I also worked with Microsoft Research to look at into AI’s future implications on work – including fashion professions.

In my curatorial projects, I initiated research projects and installations on the applications of new technologies in design practices, I had worked with practitioners in immersive environment, mixed reality, VR and AR.

  • What are your aspirations and plans for the future?: I believe that fashion will undoubtedly need a stronger digital boost and can no longer rely on experts in its own industry. My aspirations are to build new forms of digital creativity in the British fashion industry through cross-disciplinary partnerships. As a lecturer at the London College of Fashion, I am already teaching subjects related to this area, pushing for new ways of presenting fashion narratives online. However, I would like to initiate programmes which shall exert a great impact on the industry.
  • What types of projects are you interested in working on through Future Fashion Factory?: I am interested in the area of immersive digital communication and data analytics. I would like to tap into new technologies and find new ways on how physical properties of fabric can be distributed. I am also interested in building new education programmes in improving the synergy between fashion and technology in making and communicating.
